"You're not our lawyer," - #EndBadGovernance protesters rejects Adegboruwa's call for end to protests
Senior advocate of Nigeria, Adegboruwa pointed out that despite the fact that the demonstrations against hunger and poor leadership were intended to be orderly and peaceful, some irate individuals and fifth columnists had infiltrated the demonstrators' ranks in an attempt to thwart their noble goal. He bemoaned the loss of life and damage.
One of the organizers of the #EndBadGovernance protests, Take it Back Movement, has turned down an appeal from Lagos attorney Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa suggesting that they should halt the EndBadGovernance demonstration, which was originally planned to last for ten days, on the thrid day.
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Adegboruwa, a lawyer for the Take it Back Movement, expressed sadness in a statement that "fifth columnists" and "angry persons" appeared to have taken over the protest, which was now in its third day.
The senior advocate pointed out that despite the fact that the demonstrations against hunger and poor leadership were intended to be orderly and peaceful, some irate individuals and fifth columnists had infiltrated the demonstrators' ranks in an attempt to thwart their noble goal. He bemoaned the loss of life and property damage that have marked the protests in different regions of the nation thus far. "I call on the demonstrators to leave their various locations and to halt the demonstrations right away in order to provide space for fruitful conversations and interactions with the government. "It's imperative to prevent more losses and injuries, as the protests were allegedly taken over by subsidized agents.
Adegboruwa, according to Dmilare Adenola, Director of Mobilization for the Take It Back Movement, does not speak for his organization, as he told Channels Television. Conversely, Adenola stated that if the government did not comply with their requests, the demonstration might last longer than ten days. "Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa does not represent us and is not our attorney. Despite his appearance as the solicitor, he is not hungry. He is a well-respected senior Nigerian advocate. Unlike the throng occupying the streets, he is not hungry. "We are awaiting a response and action on our demands from the government. And the demonstrations go on till then," he said.
When asked if there was a sponsor for the protests, he stated that poverty and hunger were the main sponsors.
According to Adenola, the President would have responded to the demonstrators' demands by now if the Federal Government truly cares about the plight of the people.
