Your apology means nothing, return the tithes – Charly Boy tells Adeboye
Charly Boy reacts to Pastor Adeboye’s tithing apology, demanding accountability and criticizing hypocrisy in religious institutions.
Maverick entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has delivered a stinging response to Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s recent apology on tithing, calling it hollow and demanding accountability.
Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, had previously sparked controversy when he claimed that those who don’t pay tithes wouldn’t make it to heaven. In a surprising turn, he retracted his statement, admitting, “I’m sorry, that’s wrong, and it’s not in the Bible. What the Bible says is, ‘Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God.’”
Charly Boy, however, was far from impressed. In his signature no-holds-barred style, he fired back, stating, “Your apology means nothing unless you plan to return the tithe money you’ve collected from those trying to buy their way into heaven.” He went on to criticize what he perceives as hypocrisy in religious institutions, accusing church leaders of misleading their followers.
Known for his outspoken views, Charly Boy didn’t mince words, recalling a past incident where Pastor Adeboye urged his congregation to throw away their televisions. “I knew then that your way wasn’t pure,” he said, adding that some of the most judgmental people are often found in church pews.
In true Charly Boy fashion, he concluded his critique with a fiery rebuke: “Apology? You knew exactly what you were doing. Nonsense!”
