After two years in custody, rapper Young Thug, born Jeffery Williams, has been released following a plea deal in his racketeering case. Originally facing serious gang-related charges under Georgia’s RICO Act, Thug pleaded no contest to key counts and accepted probation terms.
He will serve 15 years on probation, fulfill 100 hours of community service annually, and conduct anti-gang talks for youth. Judge Paige Whitaker significantly reduced his sentence from prosecutors’ initial recommendation.
