The initiative includes a short film, Time of the Month, a music single, and an accompanying music video, all aimed at breaking the silence surrounding menstruation, addressing stigma, and driving positive societal change.
The film weaves storytelling with music to challenge myths, empower women, and promote open conversations about menstrual health. Featuring Nollywood stars like Aisha Lawal, Liquorose Afije, Mary Njoku, Ibrahim Suleiman, Mike Ezuruonye, and Femi Branch, the project highlights relatable narratives to inspire change.
Pritpal Marjara, a PSI Nigeria representative, emphasized the choice of artists was guided by their credibility, relatability, and dedication to women’s health. She noted, “Nigerian celebrities are influential figures. Their involvement can significantly reshape public perceptions of menstrual health in Nigeria.”
Through this campaign, PSI Nigeria hopes to foster a more inclusive dialogue and empower women and girls to prioritize their menstrual health without shame or stigma.
