John Tinniswood, the Briton recognized as the world’s oldest man, has passed away at the age of 112. The news was announced by Guinness World Records (GWR) via their official X page on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
Tinniswood died on Monday, November 25, at a care home in Southport, northwest England. Born in Liverpool on August 26, 1912, he earned the title of the world’s oldest man in April 2023, following the passing of 114-year-old Venezuelan Juan Vicente Perez.
His family revealed that his final day was filled with love and music, expressing deep appreciation for those who cared for him during his life.
In their statement, GWR wrote:
“We’re saddened to learn of the passing of John Tinniswood, who has died aged 112. John, who became the world’s oldest man earlier in 2024, died at the care home he resided at in Southport, UK.”
