Wizkid, Tinubu, Tinubu, others make ‘Africa’s most talked about people of 2024’
Nigerians dominate Top Charts Africa’s 2024 list of Africa’s Most Talked About People, with Wizkid, Davido, and Tinubu leading the way among influential figures across the continent.
Nigerians have dominated the Top Charts Africa’s list of Africa’s Most Talked About People of 2024, securing 18 out of the 30 spots.
Topping the list is afrobeats icon Wizkid, whose year-long buzz stemmed from his high-profile feud with Davido and the release of his acclaimed album, Morayo.
Kenyan President William Ruto clinched the second position, gaining global attention after protests against increased taxes led him to reject a controversial bill and address the national budget shortfall with the “Appropriations Bill 2024.”
Davido ranks third, his trends fueled by the celebrated “Chivido 2024” wedding to his wife, Chioma, and his continued afrobeats dominance.
Other Nigerians in the top 10 include President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, and political figure Peter Obi. Controversial crossdresser Bobrisky also earned a spot, alongside South African singer Tyla and Equatoguinean ex-official Baltasar Engonga, whose viral scandal kept him in the spotlight.
The list reflects Africa’s diverse personalities, with cultural icons, politicians, and Internet sensations shaping the continent's most discussed moments in 2024.
