Popular Nigerian singer, Wizkid has sparked controversy by revealing that global fashion brand, Puma, allegedly approached him first before signing Davido as their ambassador. In a heated exchange, Wizkid explained that he turned down Puma’s offer because their budget didn’t meet his expectations.
Responding to criticism from a netizen, the “Essence” hitmaker claimed that the brand couldn’t afford him, so they opted for Davido instead, whose budget aligned with their needs.
Wizkid also boasted about being bigger than fellow artists like Rema, Tems, and Burna Boy, dismissing any claims of jealousy, stating, "I love them all."
In a series of bold posts, Wizkid shared: “I turned down Puma cos they couldn’t afford to pay me! Way bigger than every artiste u just mentioned! Not jealous! love em all…No! Puma is big, but their budget for Africa wasn’t for me. Was cool for your client tho!"
