Vice President Kashim Shettima Asks for Debt Forgiveness at UN General Assembly

Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima who was representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. Vice president Shettima in his speech encouraged World Leaders to forgive the debts of Nigeria and other developing nations. 

He made this appeal during the General debate at the at the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. He stated that the economic development of Developing nations is being restricted by the crippling debt crisis, which reduces the ability of nations to meet the demands and needs of their citizens, during his speech to world leaders.  

He also spoke about how general insecurity is driving unprecedented hardships. He further stated the impact of terrorism to the world at large. He also spoke about several issues like climate change and the need for international cooperation in adressing this challenge .
