VeryDarkMan Praises Minister of Interior for Suspending Officers in Bobrisky Bribery Saga
Social media influencer VeryDarkMan commended Nigeria's Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for suspending senior prison officers allegedly involved in the Bobrisky bribery scandal.
Today, Martins Otse who is popularly known as VeryDarkMan on social media has come to his page to publicly appreciate Nigeria’s Interior minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for not wasting time to act on the bribery allegation involving Nigerian controversial influencer Bobrisky. The saga has to do with Bobrisky’s revelation that he failed to spend his six months in a correctional facility after offering some cash to senior officers of the NCS to help him start serving his term in a private apartment.
On his Instagram post, VeryDarkMan thanked the Minister for suspending several senior NCS officers following these allegations as an indication that the government is willing to ensure the system is accountable. The minister of interior, after watching the audio and video clips that went viral, instructed his office to launch an investigation; several officers were suspended including the Deputy Controllers of Corrections, Michael Anugwa, and Sikiru Adekunle; they were in charge of Kirikiri prison in Lagos where the offenses were committed.
This development looks at the government's position with regard to eradicating corrupt practices within this penitentiary system, especially after Tunji-Ojo’s stand that any form of malfeasance shall be dealt with appropriately. It is the case that the incident has received significant attention on various social media platforms with many standing in support of the government to order a probe into the matter.
