Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan, known as Martins Vincent Otse (VDM), has stirred up social media with a new controversy involving content creator Ashmusy. On April 23, 2025, VeryDarkMan shared a post on X, revealing that Ashmusy reached out to VeryDarkMan for help after being scammed of 33 million Naira by someone named Martins Obinna. The irony of the situation lies in their past conflict—Ashmusy had previously called VeryDarkMan a “pig” during a heated exchange.

This isn’t the first time VeryDarkMan and Ashmusy have clashed. VeryDarkMan had called out Ashmusy for allegedly failing to deliver on a 1 million Naira advertising deal, which she later refunded after his intervention. VeryDarkMan has built a reputation as a outspoken activist who doesn’t shy away from controversy. A previous incident where he claimed 180 million Naira was stolen from his NGO’s website, a claim debunked by a community note stating the website couldn’t process payments.

Despite past controversies, VeryDarkMan’s decision to help Ashmusy in the VeryDarkMan Ashmusy 33 million scam saga shows a willingness to move past grudges, though his choice to publicize the issue has divided opinions. Ashmusy, a skit maker and influencer, has faced scrutiny before, and this incident further highlights the challenges of maintaining credibility in the public eye.
