VeryDarkMan apologises to Falana over Bobrisky’s bribery allegations
Social media influencer VeryDarkMan apologizes to human rights lawyer Femi Falana over innuendos linking him to bribery allegations involving Bobrisky.
Popular social media influencer Martins Otse, known by his online moniker VeryDarkMan, has publicly apologized to renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, for the recent innuendos that linked the legal icon to bribery allegations.
Appearing before the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions on Monday, VeryDarkMan addressed the controversy, which stemmed from allegations made by crossdresser Idris Okuneye (aka Bobrisky). Bobrisky had reportedly claimed that a ₦15 million bribe was paid to have charges against him dismissed, with Falana’s name surfacing in the accusations.
In his statement before the committee, VeryDarkMan clarified that he never believed Falana was involved in the alleged misconduct. He expressed his regret over the misunderstanding, explaining that he, too, was shocked to hear Falana’s name mentioned in the viral audio recording.
"Apparently, now some people are taking advantage of what is going on to target Femi Falana," he explained. "Here, I apologise. It’s disheartening that his name was dragged into that audio. I couldn’t believe it myself—that’s what irritated me most, and I said I refuse to believe he’s part of something like that."
This apology marks a significant moment in the ongoing investigation, as VeryDarkMan distances himself from the allegations and aims to clear up any perceived connection between Falana and the bribery scandal.
