Globacom has been urged to strengthen its current partnership with the University of Ibadan by working together in the fields of ICT, telecommunications services, and corporate social responsibility by Prof. Aderonke Baiyeroju, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic). Baiyeroju made this call while hosting a Globacom team for a courtesy call on behalf of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kayode Adebowale. Globacom was praised by the DVC for offering Nigeria’s most economical data and telecommunications services. She reaffirmed that as part of the university’s legacy of excellence in teaching and learning, UI provides its students with skills beyond academics, including knowledge in fields like artificial intelligence and information technology, and is working to maintain its position at the top.
Based on its experience and skills, the professor said the university is open to working with Globacom in the fields of e-learning, institutional digitization, smart campus projects, and structural and technological development. UI is looking forward to a strategic cooperation that would promote mutual benefits for both the institution’s personnel and students, Baiyeroju said, adding that this visit will undoubtedly allow the university and Globacom the opportunity to expand their relationship that had previously existed. The team’s leader and director of sales, Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, clarified that the purpose of the tour was to look for further opportunities for cooperation with the top university.
