A heartbreaking tragedy has struck Ningi LGA in Bauchi State, where a two-year-old girl was reportedly found dead following a brutal assault. The horrific incident was confirmed by Bauchi State Police Command’s PRO, Superintendent Ahmed Wakil, who disclosed that the child’s lifeless body was discovered on November 5, 2024, beside a mosque on Deneva Street, bearing severe injuries indicative of assault.
Police detectives swiftly responded, transporting the body to General Hospital Ningi, where a medical examination confirmed the assault, revealing injuries from penetration as the cause of death. Bauchi’s Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Mohammed, condemned the crime as a vile act, urging the Ningi Divisional Police Officer to intensify efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
In response to this tragic event, the police called on parents and guardians to safeguard their children by avoiding situations where they roam unattended. They also appealed to the community for any information that could aid in identifying those responsible for this heinous crime, stressing the importance of collective vigilance in protecting society’s most vulnerable.
