Transfer news: PSG surpasses Bayern Munich in Desire Doue deal

PSG has surpassed Bayern Munich in Desire Doue's decision. In light of the financial circumstances in Ligue 1 surrounding the TV agreement, this is a major move for PSG and somewhat of a coup during what has been an extremely difficult summer transfer window for all French clubs, not just PSG. It has been hard to attract the top players, whether you play for PSG, Marseille, or any other team. PSG genuinely prioritized Leny Yoro, but he has been difficult to target in this market. As a result, PSG has redirected their efforts in recent weeks, signing Eintracht Frankfurt's Willian Pacho instead. Doue selecting PSG over what appears to be an exciting Bayern is therefore a huge plus.

Though it's not quite finalized yet, PSG is pleased that the Doue agreement appears to be headed in the right direction. That transaction should conclude very soon because it is moving closer to completion and PSG and Rennes have worked out certain terms. The fact that it increases the strength of PSG's French contingent in the squad is also encouraging, as they hope to add to this group in the coming weeks with some of the players they have their eye on. Though I'm not sure about the exact names yet, it seems like they're eager to bolster their squad's depth, especially with full-backs, for example.

They therefore did a great job defeating Bayern to acquiring Doue, who had a great season in Ligue 1. This is just the first of many French players they intend to sign before the window closes.
