Tinubu sends a message to Nigeria's Youths

Nigerians residing overseas have been reminded by President Bola Tinubu that home is the best place there is.

He reflected on his time spent living and working elsewhere before coming home to support the advancement of his country.

The president addressed on Thursday at the 2024 National Diaspora Day Celebrations in Abuja, represented by George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

According to Tinubu, he anticipates people who have traveled overseas to share their experiences and advance his development agenda back home.
"As someone who has lived and worked overseas in the past, I can attest that migration can be profoundly transformative," he stated. I moved to the United States in the 1970s to work and study before coming back to Nigeria to help with national development. 

"There is no place like home, so I implore our citizens who relocate overseas to keep that in mind. We anticipate that they will use their experiences upon return to further our development agenda.

According to Tinubu, there are drawbacks to residents migrating overseas, but the government won't stop them from looking for better chances elsewhere.
However the president pleaded with them to remember their nation.
