Popular TikToker Salo has shared a heartfelt story about how Nigerian singer Zlatan Ibile came to his aid during a life-threatening situation.
Salo recounted how he was shot and rushed to a hospital in Lekki, where doctors demanded an upfront payment of ₦12 million before beginning treatment. With his survival chances at just 50/50, a friend had to sign a consent form acknowledging the risks.
In a now-viral video on X, Salo revealed he had lost a substantial amount of blood when a woman stepped in with ₦5 million, Zlatan contributed ₦3 million, and his friend and girlfriend managed to raise ₦2 million together. Supporters rallied to complete the remaining amount, enabling his treatment to commence.
After raising the money, Salo was placed on oxygen and underwent surgery. He later disclosed that the hospital demanded an additional ₦20 million.
He also expressed deep gratitude to Zlatan, who not only contributed financially but visited him twice and brought flowers to show his support before the surgery.
Salo’s story has sparked conversations about kindness, generosity, and the high cost of healthcare in Nigeria.
