There's No bad government in Nigeria, presidency tells protesters
Sequel to the proposed nationwide protest in Nigeria, the senior special assistant on media to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, advised Nigerians to shun the #EndBadGovernance protest.
The #EndBadGovernance protest is inappropriate, according to Senior Special Assistant to the President for Media Tunde Rahman, because there isn't a bad government in Nigeria that needs to end. "Our people have a right to protest and it is their right to do so," declared Rahman, who was giving a speech in Lagos at the Lateef Jakande Annual Memorial Lecture in 2024, with the theme "Rapidly Changing Media Landscape: Media Survival Strategies."
However, we are unaware of the identity of the protest organizers. They lack hope and have no face. He said.
"I'm urging many of us not to walk on the street. The true motivations of those who are urging us to participate in the demonstration must be kept in mind. Indeed, there are difficulties. There is chaos in our economy.
Furthermore, this is not exclusive to Nigeria. The economics of the majority of the world are currently in disarray. The President is making every effort to resolve this issue. They've labeled the demonstration as an end to poor leadership.
We don't now have poor governance, in my opinion. Our government is intelligent. Certain issues must be resolved.
Furthermore, a few of the implemented remedies will address the issue in a timely manner.
"At this moment, I want to call on our colleagues to be wise, to be understanding, to exercise restraint, and to wear the toga of eminence, statesmen and women, to be aware that some of the measures under discussion have reached the gestation stage. Allow these policies some time to develop."
"I brought up restraint because I've read news stories about protests over hardship and hunger." He added.
