Tacha Reveals Why She Relocated to the UK After Conquering Nigerian Market
Ex-BBNaija star Tacha shares her reasons for relocating to the UK, citing her success in Nigeria and low influencer pay as factors behind her move.
Former Big Brother Naija star, Natacha Anita Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has opened up about her decision to relocate to the United Kingdom.
In an interview with British media personality Madame Joyce, Tacha explained that her move was driven by her belief that she had “conquered” the Nigerian market and sought new opportunities abroad.
She said:
“I relocated to the UK because I have conquered the whole of the Nigerian market. Relocating to the UK doesn’t mean I’m not going to do Nigerian deals. If the offer is good, why not?
“The influencing scene in Nigeria looks so beautiful, but behind the scenes, it’s not as beautiful as it seems because the money is poor. Someone would pay you N6 million, that’s around $3,000, for you to influence for six months and post two videos a month.
“The fee was the same when I left Big Brother Naija in 2019, and it made sense then. At least, you could book a plane ticket with it. But right now, $3,000 is nothing. N6 million seems good, but when you convert it to dollars, travel abroad, and spend money to look good, there’s nothing left.”
Tacha’s move to the UK reflects her pursuit of greater opportunities while maintaining her connections to the Nigerian market.
