The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has refuted allegations circulating on social media that the Department of State Services (DSS) invaded the National Assembly over a rumored impeachment plot. During Wednesday's plenary, Akpabio dismissed the claims, stating that the chamber was functioning peacefully and that the reports were false.
He pointed out that such misinformation is often spread to attract online attention, but assured the public that the Senate remains stable. Akpabio referred the matter to the Senate Committee on Special Duties, led by Sen. Shehu Kaka, for investigation, with a report expected within 24 hours.
