SaidaBoj Explains Why She Can’t Speak Out for VeryDarkMan After His Arrest

Nigerian social media personality SaidaBoj stirred controversy with her statement on why she cannot speak out for Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), following his arrest. The statement, comes amidst VDM’s detention by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at a GT Bank branch in Abuja.

SaidaBoj, seated in a red gaming chair and wearing a striped crop top with peach pants, explained her reluctance to speak out for VDM. The video also featured an inset image of VeryDarkMan, dressed in a striped shirt and cap, smiling. SaidaBoj’s statement follows VDM’s arrest on May 3rd, 2025, which detailed how a fan accused GT Bank and the EFCC of colluding to “kidnap” VDM at their Plot 1072, J.S. branch in Abuja.

This arrest stems from a broader legal battle involving VDM. An Abuja Chief Magistrate Court issued a bench warrant for VDM’s arrest on March 13th, 2025, following a criminal defamation case filed by gospel singer Mercy Chinwo. The EFCC’s involvement in VDM’s detention at GT Bank has raised questions about their motives, especially given VDM’s history of outspoken criticism.

SaidaBoj’s refusal to speak out for VDM appears to be rooted in their past conflicts. Web results from Creebhills.com and Gistlover.com, dated February 13th and 14th, 2025, respectively, detail a prior feud where VDM accused media personality Nedu of leaking private details about SaidaBoj. In response, SaidaBoj issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Nedu to confirm or deny the allegations, warning of consequences if he failed to respond. She also demanded respect from VDM, saying, “VeryDarkMan, put some respect when calling my name.”

VDM’s arrest at GT Bank has been a focal point of controversy. A supporter of VDM accused GT Bank and the EFCC of working together to detain him, an incident that occurred shortly after VDM publicly criticized the bank for unauthorized debits from his mother’s account. This arrest follows a pattern of legal troubles for VDM, including the defamation case by Mercy Chinwo, which led to the court’s warrant in March 2025. SaidaBoj’s history with VDM adds complexity to her statement.

Their feud, as detailed in the web results, began when VDM alleged that Nedu shared intimate details about SaidaBoj’s personal life, including her past relationships. SaidaBoj’s strong response at the time, demanding respect and issuing an ultimatum—suggests that lingering tensions may have influenced her decision not to advocate for VDM now. Her statement, “Why I can’t speak out for VeryDarkMan,” likely reflects both personal grievances and a desire to avoid further entanglement in his legal battles.
