Rick Ross Sued For Not Making Wheelchair Available For Disabled In His Show

American rapper and record executive Rick Ross is facing a lawsuit for failing to make his popular Car & Bike Show accessible to disabled attendees. Darris Straughter, a disabled man, has taken legal action against Ross after being unable to attend the event at Ross' sprawling 235-acre estate, known as 'The Promised Land,' in Fayetteville, Georgia, despite purchasing a ticket and arranging travel and lodging.

Straughter, who has been disabled since a traumatic spinal cord injury in 2018, reached out to the event organizers two weeks before the show to communicate his accessibility needs. However, upon arrival, he discovered that the venue lacked the necessary accommodations for wheelchair users, preventing him from enjoying the event.

Adding to his frustrations, Straughter claims that the organizers promised refunds to anyone unable to attend due to accessibility issues, but he never received a refund or any follow-up communication. This lack of response has prompted Straughter to seek legal recourse.

Represented by attorney John Hoover Esq., Straughter is suing Rick Ross for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). The lawsuit seeks damages and a court order requiring that future Car & Bike Shows provide proper access for disabled attendees.
