Rema donates N105m to Church In Edo
Rema donates ₦105 million to Christ Embassy Church in Benin City, Edo State, as a gesture of gratitude for their support during his childhood, contributing to church infrastructure, publications, and widows in need.
Nigerian international music sensation Divine Ikubor, widely known as Rema, has made a generous donation of ₦105 million to Christ Embassy Church in Benin City, Edo State. The donation was made during Rema's visit to his home state for the Edo@33 celebration, where he also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the 6,000-capacity Edo Dome and headlined a concert at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Rema’s contribution to the Edo Regional Headquarters of Christ Embassy, located on Erediauwa Street off Ekenwa Road, was a heartfelt gesture in gratitude for the church’s unwavering support during a challenging time in his early life. Reflecting on the impact the church had on his family after the loss of his father when he was just eight years old, Rema recounted how the church leaders, Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas, extended a helping hand by setting up a shop for his mother. This act of kindness allowed his mother to provide for the family during their darkest days.
In a spirit of gratitude, Rema announced several specific donations: ₦40 million towards the church's infrastructural development, ₦20 million for the Rhapsody of Realities publication, and ₦25 million dedicated to the church’s teen ministry, acknowledging his roots in the teen church. Additionally, he pledged ₦20 million to support any widows present during the service, ensuring his generosity touched multiple lives within the congregation.
Rema emphasized that his gesture was not about seeking accolades but rather about giving glory to God and giving back to the community that had embraced and supported him throughout his journey.
