Reekado Banks and his partner welcomed a baby exactly two years after losing his mom.

Popular Nigerian artiste Reekado Banks and his partner have now become parents as they’ve been blessed with their first child, which is a very emotional day for anyone. The baby was born on September 24, 2024, which would have been the second anniversary of his mother’s death, so the event was especially painful for the performer. Afterward, with the help of Banks who took to Instagram to celebrate the birth, he described the shock of losing his mother two years ago but regaining a new life after waking up from the hospital as a father.

In his post, he expressively remembers his mom saying she has died physically, but she is still with him as if having blessed him by making him the father of this child. Reekado also spoke positively to his partner about her strength, particularly throughout pregnancy, as he celebrated her for her one year of ‘grit and strength’. The singer decided to withhold the name of his baby even if it was a boy or girl, but appreciated the feelings of happiness and importance of this period in his life.

Ayoleyi Solomon, known by his stage name Reekado Banks, is another talented Nigerian artist who came to the limelight after signing for Mavin Records in 2014 but now operates under his label. 

This moment of celebration comes in the wake of the emotional grief of the loss of his mother, which the musician suffered only two years ago.
