He specifically called out their road-blocking actions, stating, “#FreeVDM Protest: Stop blocking the roads.” Radiogad, appeared alongside another individual, speaking directly to the camera. His message suggests that while he may support the cause, he disapproves of the methods used by protesters, which have caused disruptions for commuters. Radiogad is no stranger to controversy.

The #FreeVDM protest stems from the arrest of Martin Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on May 2, 2025. VDM was reportedly detained at a GTBank branch in Abuja, alongside a friend, over allegations related to his NGO’s fundraising activities. The lack of an official statement from the EFCC has fueled public outrage, with many accusing the agency of abuse of power. Protesters have taken to the streets, blocking roads to demand VDM’s release, which prompted Radiogad’s warning. This isn’t the first time protests in Nigeria have led to road blockades.
