Presidential Aide Daniel Bwala Slams Niger Leader's Claims as "Despicable Propaganda"  

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has strongly condemned recent allegations by Niger Republic’s military leader, Abdourahamane Tchiani, accusing Nigeria of colluding with France to destabilize Niger.  

Speaking in a video shared on his X page, Bwala described the claims as "despicable propaganda" aimed at inciting Northern Nigeria against President Tinubu. He noted that the Nigerien leader deliberately used a local Northern Nigerian language to stir emotions and create discord.  

The controversy began when Tchiani, during an interview conducted in Hausa, alleged that France was negotiating with terrorists in Nigeria and had made payments to President Tinubu to establish a military base in the country.  

These claims were swiftly dismissed by Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who labeled them as unfounded and baseless.  

Bwala elaborated on the situation, stating, "The honeymoon is over for the military regime in Niger. Unable to address economic challenges in his country, Tchiani has resorted to spreading cheap lies and propaganda against Nigeria."  

He also speculated about possible collusion with political actors within Nigeria, adding, "The choice of words used by the military leader is insulting and intended to create chaos and bad blood in Northern Nigeria against the President."  

Highlighting Nigeria’s longstanding leadership role in fostering peace and bilateral relations across West Africa, Bwala reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to maintaining stability and unity in the region.
