Power Minister Adelabu must be removed – VeryDarkMan
Popular social critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) calls for the removal of Nigeria's Minister of Power, citing unfair electricity distribution and questioning the segregation of power access across different income groups.
Amid anticipation of President Bola Tinubu's cabinet reshuffle, social critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has voiced a strong opinion regarding the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu. VDM, in a video shared on Facebook, called for Adelabu's removal, citing dissatisfaction with the current electricity distribution system in Nigeria.
VDM criticized the "Band A, Band B, and Band C" segregation in power supply, which he argued unfairly benefits wealthier areas at the expense of lower-income neighborhoods. According to him, while some Nigerians enjoy up to twenty hours of electricity daily, others struggle with limited access. He questioned the fairness of this system, suggesting that it discriminates against poorer citizens by denying them equal access to power.
He further appealed to the president to retain ministers who are performing well, but made it clear that, in his view, the Minister of Power must be replaced, as the current system is flawed and does not reflect equality among citizens.
The reshuffle is expected soon, as confirmed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, who hinted at possible changes to the current cabinet lineup.
