Veteran Nollywood actor Ayobami Olabiyi, a cherished figure in the Yoruba movie industry, has passed away in Ibadan, Oyo State. The actor, affectionately known as "Bobo B," succumbed to illness on Wednesday after receiving care at the University College Hospital (UCH). Reports indicate that in his final days, Olabiyi was unable to move or speak due to the severity of his condition.
The chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bose Akinola, confirmed the heartbreaking news, announcing the passing of their National General Secretary.
“May God give all TAMPAN members and his family the strength to bear this great loss,” Akinola said in her statement.
Olabiyi's death marks a profound loss for the Yoruba film community, where his contributions left an indelible mark on the industry and its people.
