Pope Francis passes on at age 88

The Pope of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, passes on at the age of 88, the Pope’s death comes after less than a day he appeared at St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican for Easter Sunday.

He came out in a wheelchair waved from the balcony of St Peter’s Basilica to cheering crowds and said: “Dear brothers and sisters, happy Easter.” An aide read his traditional Easter message while he sat and watched.

After the blessing he was taken round the square, he went through the square and blessed babies people brought to him. Not long ago, Cardinal Farrell sadly announced that Pope Francis has died in a statement. He said, “Dear brothers and sisters, I am very sad to tell you that our Holy Father Francis has passed away.”

“At 7:35 this morning the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His whole life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and His Church.”

Farrell continued, “He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage and universal love, especially in favour of the poorest and most marginalized.”

Farrell concludes by saying, “With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the Triune God.”
