Police reveal identity of crossdresser murdered in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has revealed new details surrounding the tragic murder of the well-known crossdresser, popularly referred to as ‘Abuja Area Mama,’ who was found dead earlier this month.
It had been earlier reported that the lifeless body of the crossdresser was discovered in the early hours of August 8 along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway, a discovery that sent shockwaves through the community.
Following the discovery, the FCT Police launched a comprehensive investigation to uncover the events leading to this shocking crime. In an official statement released on Tuesday, the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, shared that preliminary investigations have identified the deceased as 33-year-old Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict.
Hailing from Afikpo North Local Government Area in Ebonyi State, Ifeanyi resided in the Dapé area of Karmo, within the nation’s capital. The police have since reached out to the deceased's family, who are now cooperating with the authorities and providing vital information to assist in the ongoing investigation.
