Police in Ogun State arrest three suspects linked to theft and vandalism of rental equipment from a warehouse, as investigations continue to locate other accomplices.
In Ogun State, police have apprehended three suspects connected to the alleged theft and vandalism of rental equipment from a warehouse in Akingbala, Eleweeran. The arrest came after Abosede Akinwale, CEO of Ola’s Rental Services, reported to the Aregbe Divisional Police Station that her warehouse had been broken into, with canopy iron stands and other rental items missing.
According to the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, Akinwale had previously experienced a break-in at the same warehouse in July, during which stolen items branded with her business name were traced to a scrap site at Mechanic Village Camp, Abeokuta.
Upon receiving Akinwale’s latest complaint, detectives swiftly responded, leading to the arrests of Nasiru Abdullahi, 31, Abulsalam Abubakar, 27, and truck attendant Jamiu Alamu, 27, who was caught loading the stolen iron into an unmarked blue DAF truck. The truck driver reportedly fled with the ignition key just before the police arrived.
With assistance from the Mechanic Village chairman, security was tightened around the area to secure the truck and prevent further tampering. The recovered materials have been taken to the police station, and authorities are actively pursuing other suspects involved in the case.
