Police Arrest Lady With AK-47, Magazines Hidden Inside Garri
30-year-old Hauwa Yusuf was arrested on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway while transporting an AK-47 rifle and magazines concealed in a sack of garri.
A 30-year-old woman, Hauwa Yusuf, was recently arrested by the Special Tactical Squad (STS) during a routine stop-and-search operation on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway. Yusuf was caught transporting an AK-47 rifle and four loaded AK magazines concealed within a sack of garri, a staple food in Nigeria.
According to Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, Yusuf was intercepted while traveling from Lafia in Nasarawa State to Katsina State aboard a Sienna bus. Upon searching her belongings, operatives discovered the concealed weapons.
During questioning, Yusuf admitted that she was acting on instructions from Aminu Basullube, a well-known bandit who has been causing terror across the Katsina State region. Basullube allegedly directed her to retrieve the weapons from the Danum Madam Camp, a notorious area within the state.
