The management group representing Peter Okoye, a former member of the now-disbanded P-Square music group, has denied the accusations made by his brother, Paul Okoye, claiming that Peter is to blame for their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye’s, legal troubles.
During a press conference on Friday, Paul Okoye leveled these allegations, specifically pointing fingers at Peter for Jude’s current predicament. Jude is under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for serious allegations involving a N1.38 billion fraud and is currently in custody as mandated by the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, until a bail hearing set for March.

At the press conference, Paul remarked, “This isn’t about backing him because I know the truth. The media is misrepresenting the situation; Peter is the one who has placed Jude in this predicament.” He expressed his desire to support Jude amid his legal struggles.
In reaction to Paul’s claims, Peter’s manager, Emem Kush, strongly denied any connection between Peter and Jude’s legal issues. She stressed, “This case involves the EFCC and Jude Okoye, and Peter is not part of it.” Nonetheless, she noted that the case originated from a petition concerning a company that manages funds for Peter, a situation he was reportedly unaware of. Kush reiterated that Peter had not taken any legal steps against his brothers.
When asked about any conditions related to the case, Emem responded, “The EFCC is managing this investigation, so for precise information, it’s advisable to contact them directly.”
Since 2015, the Okoye brothers have been in conflict, with their disagreements becoming public. Though they initially embarked on solo careers after their split in 2017, they came together in 2022 for joint projects. However, in August 2024, Paul declared their separation during an interview on City FM radio, alleging that Peter had filed petitions against both him and Jude with the EFCC, which resulted in their summons for questioning. Peter denied these accusations but mentioned that his petition was intended to expose the betrayal he felt from Jude and his wife, Ifeoma.
