In a post that quickly gained traction, Peter addressed the ongoing Peter Okoye Psquare fans controversy, refusing to apologize for comments he made at AY Comedian’s show. He blamed fan comparisons for the rift between him and his twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), which ultimately led to the breakup of the iconic music duo Psquare.

In his X post at 11:11 am on April 21, 2025, Peter Okoye responded to a fan’s criticism, stating:

“I said what I said! Unapologetic! Maybe you didn’t see the complete video of that statement. I appealed to those fans to support whoever they want to support rather than comparison. Today Wiz, Davido, and Burna, who used to support each other on stage, no longer do all that simply because of comparison! Y’all can do better. This is not pride it’s the fact! Artists are humans as well.”

Peter’s statement was a direct reply to a fan, @_AgbaDev, who accused him of pride and demanded an apology for a “mannerless statement” made at AY’s show. According to web sources, Peter had earlier blamed Psquare fans for the group’s breakup, citing constant comparisons between him and Paul as a key factor that fueled tension and ego clashes.

Psquare, formed in 1997 by twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, was a powerhouse in the Nigerian music industry, known for hits like “Bizzy Body” and “E No Easy.” However, the group faced multiple breakups over the years, with fan-fueled comparisons often cited as a contributing factor. At AY Comedian’s recent event, Peter elaborated on how fans’ favoritism created divisions, a sentiment he doubled down on in his X post.
