Pastor Tobi Adegboyega Disagrees with Kemi Badenoch’s Negative Comments on Nigeria
Pastor Tobi Adegboyega of SPAC Nation refutes Kemi Badenoch’s critical remarks about Nigeria, highlighting issues in the UK while defending Nigeria’s image.
The founder of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church (SPAC Nation), Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, has expressed strong disagreement with recent comments made by Kemi Badenoch, the UK Conservative Party leader, regarding Nigeria.
Badenoch, in an interview with The Free Press, recounted a negative experience with the Nigeria Police Force, alleging that officers once stole her brother’s watch and shoes. Her remarks have sparked backlash, including a rebuke from Nigerian Vice-President Kashim Shettima.
During an interview with Channels Television, Pastor Adegboyega countered Badenoch’s portrayal of Nigeria, asserting that the UK has its own issues.
“I completely disagree with her statement. In 2023 and 2024 alone, 78,000 bags and phones were snatched in London,” he said.
Adegboyega emphasized the challenges faced by black communities in the UK, stating:
“There is a very strong Nigerian black community in the UK, people who have fought for leaders like Kemi to rise to such positions. Yet, UK prisons and mental health facilities house more young black people than schools.”
While acknowledging Nigeria’s challenges, Adegboyega rejected the overly negative image painted by Badenoch, urging for a balanced perspective.
