One dead in multiple truck accident on Lagos bridge

Tragedy struck on Kara Bridge, Lagos State, in the early hours of Wednesday as a multiple truck accident claimed the life of an unidentified male driver.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident in a statement signed by its Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, and shared by LASEMA’s Public Relations Officer, Nosa Okunbor.
The accident, which occurred at 4:26 AM, involved a truck carrying steel coils and a stationary 40-foot container truck without a head. According to LASEMA’s investigation, the articulated truck driver lost control while attempting to avoid a collision with the container blocking the road.
Efforts by emergency responders to manage the situation highlight the ongoing dangers posed by large vehicles on Lagos roads. The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the need for stricter regulations on road safety and vehicle operations.
