Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde narrowly escapes Earthquake

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, a Nollywood actress, has shared on X her first experience with Earthquake since her over 20 years living in Los Angeles.

The mother of four, Omotola was born on February 7, 1978, has featured in over 300 films since making her Nollywood film debut in 1995, with millions of copies sold.

One of the most potentially dangerous fault zones in the area, which is capable of creating a magnitude 7.5 earthquake beneath the core of the city, is where the magnitude 4.4 earthquake that shook Los Angeles happened.

According to a U.S. Geological Survey map, there were reports of minor damage and shaking, but no significant injuries or damage. The shaking was felt from San Diego County to Simi Valley and out to Victorville and Redlands.

Highland Park was the location of the epicenter. Shortly after, the initial magnitude of the earthquake—4.7—was lowered. To look for damage, especially to infrastructure, the L.A. county and municipal fire departments turned on earthquake mode.

No damage was discovered.
