A season's best, an Olympic debut. For refugee runner Farida Abaroge on the Stade de France track in Paris 2024, it was a day to remember. In the third heat of qualifying, the 30-year-old ran her fastest time of the year (4:29.27) over 1500 meters.
She will compete in the repechage round on Wednesday along with the other competitors who finished outside the top 18, who went straight to the semi-finals.
As a result, Abaroge, who is currently based in France after leaving Ethiopia in 2016, will have a second opportunity to experience the amazing atmosphere at this stadium.
