Olakira Says The Truth About Davido Begging Him For Verse
Uprising Nigerian singer Olakira has reacted to rumours flying around online that Davido begged him for a verse.
Olakira, born Adefemi Ebenezer, recently expressed his displeasure over false reports circulating about his collaboration with David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on the 2020 hit song "Maserati." It's widely known that the two artists teamed up on this track, which became a massive success. In an interview with Legit.ng, Olakira shared his positive experience working with Davido, highlighting how eager and enthusiastic the singer was to be part of the project.
Olakira recounted how Davido spontaneously joined the collaboration, even video-calling him from the studio while recording his verse. However, this story was twisted into a baseless rumor that Davido had begged to be included in the song.
Frustrated by the misinformation, Olakira called on bloggers to fact-check their content before publishing. He clarified, "At no point in that interview did I imply that Davido was desperate. Bloggers, please verify your information before spreading nonsense. Unlike some of your favorites, David embodies the spirit of Ubuntu, and I’m eternally grateful for that."
