Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun Approves N77,000 Minimum Wage

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has approved a new minimum wage of N77,000, with immediate effect. The announcement followed a meeting between the governor, represented by Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, and leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), regarding the implementation of the new wage policy.

Speaking through the SSG, Governor Abiodun emphasized that no worker in the state should earn less than N77,000 from this month onward. He assured that his administration is committed to alleviating the suffering of the people.

The governor also urged the private sector to follow suit, encouraging them to engage with stakeholders to agree on a suitable minimum wage for their employees. He plans to establish a monitoring team to ensure that the private sector adheres to this directive and no worker is unfairly treated.
