NSCDC detains suspect for alleged armed robbery in Kano
The Kano State Command of the NSCDC has arrested Amir Mohammed for a brutal armed robbery, where he stabbed a victim multiple times in an attempt to steal valuables.
The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 24-year-old suspect, Amir Mohammed, in connection with an armed robbery incident. The arrest took place on November 7 at the Sharada Federal Housing Estate in Kano, following a security operation.
According to the NSCDC’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, the suspect allegedly broke into the home of Mustafa Abubakar, stabbing him and his family multiple times in a brutal attack. The victim suffered stab wounds in 11 critical areas, including his neck and chest, as the suspect attempted to steal his smartphone and laptop, likely to use them for fraudulent financial activities. The assailant left the victims in a pool of blood before fleeing the scene.
Abubakar was rushed to a hospital for medical treatment, and an investigation revealed that Mohammed had previously entered the same compound on November 1, where he had stolen the victim’s SIM cards.
Authorities are currently working to apprehend another suspect, Abbas Danmama, who remains at large. Once the investigation is completed, the case will be handed over to the Nigeria Police for further legal action.
