Nigeria sitting on a time bomb – Obasanjo
The former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, stated on Friday that factors that could encourage constructive change and the advancement of the country include teamwork and purposeful leadership.
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria, mentioned teamwork and purposeful leadership as elements that might promote positive change and the nation's progress on Friday.
Obasanjo added that without adjustments to the way governance is carried out, Nigeria as a country cannot advance. At the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, the former president made this statement while hosting six members of the House of Representatives. The lawmakers co-sponsored bills that called for a single six-year term for the president and governors, power rotation between the northern and southern regions of the nation, and a single day for elections for national assembly, state assembly, and presidential positions. Hon. Ugochinyere Ikenga, who represents the Ideato North and South Federal Constituency of Imo State, led the delegation.
Speaking on the #EndBadGovernance demonstrators' demands, Obasanjo stated that they were perfectly reasonable and that the government has to quit tricking the public into believing that everything is well. As I've already warned, we should be aware that if we don't start acting appropriately, we're all sitting on a keg of gunpowder.
For example, the demands made by the youth are quite reasonable and deserve to be taken seriously. Why should they be denied what is legitimately theirs?
