The House of Representatives, Abuja Calls For Canadian Government Actions Against Hate Speech And Genocide Incitement by Igbo Nigerian lady in Canada
The Nigerian House of Representatives, Abuja have written a petition against a Nigerian woman, identified as Amaka Patience for incitement to genocide and hate speech against Yoruba and Edo ethnic groups.
Amaka Patience Sunnberger, a resident Nigerian in Canada in a recorded group live chat on TikTok was heard asking for Yorubas to be poisoned with the local rodents pesticide "Ota piapia" so they die slowly by falling sick first.
She is also heard saying she would poison her Yoruba colleagues at work the next day and report herself to the government.
In the petition written by Rep Biodun Omolaye and Tochukwu Chinedu Okere, Canadian International laws such as International covenant on Civil and Political rights- ICCPR. Article 20, International convention on the elimination of all forms of Racial discrimination, ICERD. Article 4 etc were points raised against Amaka's speech and conduct and to prompt necessary actions by the Canadian government.
The head of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri has also shared a picture of Amaka on her X page after she deleted her TikTok account.
She also stated that Nigerians abroad have started reporting the culprit to the Canadian government.
