Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is poised to secure a second term as the World Trade Organization’s Director-General, as the nomination window closed with no other candidates. Okonjo-Iweala, a former Nigerian Finance Minister, confirmed her intent to continue in September 2024.
Petter Olberg, WTO’s General Council chair, announced that she is the only nominee, marking her path to another four-year term with the global trade body.
