NDDC Encourages Youths to sign up for the N6 billion training program

Youths in the Niger Delta are being urged by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to enroll in the commission's unique training program in order to learn entrepreneurship skills. The call was made by Mr. Chiedu Ebie, the Chairman of the Governing Board, during the NDDC Youth Internship Scheme's launch in Port Harcourt.

Recall that Senate President Godswill Akpabio had announced that the Federal Government has approved providing 10,000 Niger Delta youths with a N50,000 monthly stipend for a 12-month period.

According to Ebie, those who were chosen would get N50,000 a month to develop their abilities in a variety of industries, including technology, agriculture, medical, craftsmanship, cars, and seafaring.

"The goal of the NDDC youth intensive program is to provide our young people the tools they need to start their own businesses and find jobs. Youths from the Niger Delta are eligible to register for the training via https://nyis.nddc.gov.ng for free, but only if they are 45 years of age or under. "Pensioners should not fraudulently lower their age by ten years in order to be eligible for the program, as there is an age limit," he stated. Ebie stated that safeguards against such shrewd behavior had been put in place, and accommodations had been made for those with physical disabilities. Each participant will choose the location of their internship, and we will put them in touch with companies that are looking for interns.

To guarantee openness and assess the program's effectiveness, a framework for learning, monitoring, and assessment will be developed, he added. Dr. Samual Ogbuku, Managing Director of the NDDC, praised the youths for declining to take part in the current EndBadGovernance demonstration.

According to him, the empowerment program was a well-thought-out project that was funded annually by the commission with N1.9 trillion, not an afterthought.

According to Ogbuku, the administration of President Bola Tinubu is dedicated to the Niger Delta's development.
