Nationwide Protest: Governor Adeleke of Osun orders closure of Schools
Ahead of the August 1-10 nationwide protest in Nigeria, Governor Adeleke of Osun State has ordered a total shutdown of schools
The Osun State Government has issued an order for all public and private schools to start the third term holiday right away in order to safeguard students during the August 1–10, 2024, "End Bad Governance" rallies.
This was said in a statement released on Monday by Mr. Kehinde Jimoh, the Permanent Secretary of Education. "This is to inform the general public, particularly parents, guardians, and heads of both public and private schools in the state that all schools are directed to proceed on the third term vacation From Wednesday, July 31, 2023, due to the planned nationwide protests."
The statement continued, "Parents and Guardians are advised to ensure the safety of their wards during the vacation."
Mr. Kehinde Jimoh, pointed out that the order for a mandatory third-term vacation should be followed by both public and private schools.
