N15M Bribe: Lawyer reveals reason for Bobrisky’s absence at hearing
Bobrisky's legal team cites illness for his absence at a National Assembly panel investigating ₦15 million bribery allegations, as critic Verydarkman demands his presence.
The legal representative of popular Nigerian influencer Bobrisky has revealed the reason behind his unexpected absence from a scheduled appearance before a panel at the National Assembly Complex. The session was convened to investigate serious allegations that Bobrisky, born Idris Okuneye, had allegedly paid a ₦15 million bribe to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to have his money laundering charges dismissed.
In a formal statement submitted to the panel, Bobrisky’s legal team clarified that their client’s absence was due to health complications. According to the team, Bobrisky was unwell and unable to make the highly anticipated appearance to defend himself against the bribery accusations.
Adding another layer of tension to the proceedings, outspoken critic Verydarkman, who has been at the forefront of exposing the influencer’s alleged actions, refused to provide details on the incriminating recording that reportedly links Bobrisky to the bribery claims. He instead insisted that Bobrisky must be present to address the allegations head-on.
The situation continues to unfold, with public interest growing as many await the next move in the ongoing investigation. While Bobrisky's legal team remains adamant that his absence was unavoidable due to illness, critics, led by Verydarkman, are determined to see him respond in person to the serious allegations against him.
