My Voice Comes From My Mother’s Strength – Kiekie Reveals

Popular content creator and actress Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, known as Kiekie, recently discussed how much her mother has influenced her life and career. In an interview on the ‘”I Said What I Said’ podcast“, Kiekie reflected on her mother’s success as a businesswoman in the male-dominated oil industry. This has inspired Kiekie to strive for her own goals and strong work ethic. It shows how Kiekie reveals strength by fighting through adversity.

Kiekie admires her mother’s strength and resilience. She feels she still has a long way to go to match her mother’s achievements, which motivates her in her quest for success. Growing up in a supportive family helped Kiekie become outspoken and confident. Kiekie reveals strength in her own journey, inspired by her mother’s groundbreaking work in a difficult field for women.

Kiekie shared a significant moment when her mother was the secretary of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria. This was a historic achievement. Kiekie recalls how her mother faced doubt and discrimination, with many asking, “Why would a woman hold such a position?” Seeing her mother tackle these challenges has made Kiekie feel responsible to raise her voice and ambitions. Kiekie stated, “If she is breaking down barriers, then I need to be louder.” Truly, Kiekie reveals strength in every step of her path.

The topic of being “loud” came up during the talk. Kiekie mentioned how people often criticize her for being very energetic and expressive. Some say she is “too loud” or “always shouting.” Kiekie responded by saying she doesn’t think she is loud enough. Despite having over 10 million followers on social media, she feels that with Nigeria’s population over 200 million, her voice still has a long way to go. This is another example of how Kiekie reveals strength in her determination to be heard.

I know what I want to achieve.”
