Mikel Merino completes medicals as new Arsenal Player

Mikel Merino, a former midfield player for Real Sociedad, has completed his medicals to become a new player for Arsenal after the two teams came to an agreement. According to reports, the deal is valued €33.5 million plus an extra €5 million in add-ons.

Merino travelled to London to complete a medical examination and finalize the details of his deal. The contract is believed to be for four seasons with an option for a fifth. It is anticipated that the formal announcement would follow these procedures. Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay led a second in-person meeting in London where the agreement was finalized.

Given Merino's contract status, the Spanish club ultimately agreed to a significantly reduced sum, despite their initial request of about €40 million. The player's Real Sociedad contract was about to expire this summer, and he had already declared his intention to sign with Arsenal. Merino is about to begin a new chapter in his career at Arsenal. Because of the transfer, he has missed Real Sociedad's previous two training sessions.
