Mikel Arteta dismisses Osimhen purchase rumours, backs current Arsenal strikers

The manager of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, has ruled out the possibility of acquiring Victor Osimhen, the outstanding striker for Napoli, believing that his present group of attackers will lead the way this year.

Notwithstanding reports that Arsenal is interested in the Nigerian attacker, Arteta has stated that he is confidence in the skills of the players he currently has available. It seems that his remarks have ended rumors that Osimhen is being considered. Rather, he highlighted how much he trusted Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard, and Gabriel Jesus to play forward.

Speaking about the potential transfer, Arteta said: "We have some great strikers. Gabi Jesus is there, Kai has played there a lot of minutes, Leo has played there and we believe we have all the necessities as well. We fully trust our players."

Some supporters and commentators have stated that Arsenal's goal this season is to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title, and that beating Pep Guardiola's team may depend on the acquisition of a new No. 9. Arteta appears confident that the present team can accomplish that aim without the need for outside help, though.

Arsenal will play Aston Villa at Villa Park soon, and then they will host Brighton & Hove Albion at Emirates Stadium as the summer transfer window draws to an end. Arteta's faith in his strikers will be put to the test as the Gunners prepare for these important games.
