Makerere University’s Academic Registrar is inviting Ugandan, East African, S. Sudanese, and international applicants to apply for undergraduate programs under the private sponsorship scheme for the 2019–2020 academic year. Each applicant must: Either have at least two principal passes at the Advanced Level (UACE) obtained at the same sitting and the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least five passes, or its equivalent; for day programs, only candidates who sat A’ level in 2018, 2017, and 2016 are eligible to apply; for evening, afternoon, and external programs, a candidate is not limited on the year of sitting A’level.
Or possess at least a Second Class/Credit (or comparable classification) diploma from an accredited chartered institution that is pertinent to the program being applied for, or another qualification as stated in the Diploma Holders’ Requirements. After submitting an online application, one passport-sized photo and certified copies of the awarding institutions’ academic transcripts and certificates—not photocopies of certified copies—must be delivered to Office 315 Level Three (3) Senate Building. The undergraduate admissions office’s notice board and the Makerere University website, www.mak.ac.ug, provide information about the entrance requirements for Diploma Holders for the 2019–2020 academic year.
Or(c) be a graduate from a recognised chartered university. Certified copies of academic transcripts and certificates (not photocopies of Certified copies) from the awarding institutions and one passport size photography must be submitted to office 315, Level three (3) Senate Building after applying online.
